Four weeks already!

We have passed the four week mark already - hard to believe. Tristan and his mom have been taking a "new moms" class every Thursday and it's been nice to be with other screaming children, not just Tristan...

We continue to look for identifiable indicators as to which of his parents Tristan looks more like--time will tell. Here is another picture of Trina and her mom (who has changed quite a bit from 1973, although we think she should bring back the braids...) next to a picture of Tristan. :-)


Here are a few fairly content pictures. The blue outfit is one that Daddy wore! Welcome back 1977!


In the corner of the above picture you can see the changing table monkey. (Thanks Rachel Whitmer!) It has not been named yet, but I'm sure that will come soon. So far it has only been peed on once...and it wasn't that bad.

It's not always so cheerful, (on either side), but there is good mommy-baby bonding time that happens each day.





You know that he is the son of a teacher since he has already learned how to raise his hand before he speaks. :)

Grandma N is still here for a few more days, but it is clear that she will be missing him before she even gets on the plane.

Visit with Rylan

Tristan had a visit with his 'twin' Rylan. At this point play dates are more for mom than for Tristan. Looks like he had fun though too.


Tristan and Mom get lots of personal time.



Dad has to go to work now and misses him very much--but they get a little time in each night.

Blankets and Clothes

Earlier we had pictures of all the hats from Grandma T.

Grandma N. was on blanket duty.



If you look closely, you can see all the fancy curls, loops and animal stitching from her new sewing machine.


She also brought some blankets and clothes that Dad had when he was my size. Although at least one of them is too small already!!! :-)


The afghan was made by Great-Grandma Nussbaum, and the colorful blanket by Great-Aunt Margaret. We think the jumper was made by Great-Aunt Bev.


I've worn this little sleeper a lot that Dad wore when he was my age.


Grandma N. tells me that there are a whole lot more clothes and stuffed animals from Dad in the closets in Oregon.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Grandma T. has contributed cribs, mobiles, strollers, stuffed animals to my cause -I just haven't had an opportunity to use them all yet. Pictures will be posted as I come of age and can use them. :-)

3 Weeks Old!!!

Update from Tristan himself:

Today I am 3 weeks old. A lot has happened in this most recent third of my life (well, OK, not too much...)

But most importantly, Grandma and Grandpa Nussbaum came to visit from Oregon. They were pretty excited to see me at the airport. Grandma is still here for another week-and-a-half.




Auntie Lynette gets a little time in now and then too...


Here are the first family photos we've taken (after my second trip to church). Dad must think I am fragile or something since he was holding me with that kink in his shoulder.


I also went back to the hospital to visit my newest friend, Lewis Yoder. Mommy and Laura are great friends, and they have promised me that Lewis and I will have playdates very soon.



Grandma Nussbaum has a hard time putting me down, but every once-in-awhile I am content just to sleep by myself.



I had to say goodbye to Uncle Aaron this week. He and I had a special bond since he was the first family member (outside of my parents, of course) to visit me in the hospital. He left to go to Canada for awhile, but I look forward to seeing him at Christmas.



I really like when Grandpa N. holds me (I think he likes it too...) I'm glad I get to see him in October.


Mostly my life these days consists of sleeping, eating and peeing (I like to save up the poopie ones for a couple of days so I can really do a doozy! Last time it was at church - Dad got to take care of me.) I cry a little, but not too much.

2 Weeks Down

Well, it has been awhile since we have posted. We have been getting used to just figuring out life and routines.

In the last week or so, here are a few highlights:

• Aunty Lynette came home from Israel (and thinks Tristan is cute!)
  
• Several neighborhood walks
  
• Trip to the Downtown Saturday Farmers Market
  
• First trip to Church
• LOTS of poopie diapers (we have made the switch to cloth!)
• Trip to the Rockingham County Fair
• Visit with Rylan and Hazel (mothers are Laura and Tracy from our birthing class)
• Several visits from neighborhood friends
  

While this is all happening, mom and dad continue to be appreciative of all of the meals and support!

This has been the most common pose over the last several days...
